Origin of the meditation bench B. Folden

When friends were discussing unwieldy and heavy meditation benches, I became fixated on the topic. There are plenty of meditation benches with a continuous seat and fold-out legs on the sides or in the middle. My goal was to be able to fold the bench to a size shorter than the seat's minimum width of 40 cm, resulting in a compact, backpack-friendly format.

I started with simple cardboard models like the ones in the pictures above: The top row shows the three models in their erected state, the middle row shows the underside, and the bottom row shows the folded state. I eventually continued working on the model on the far right.
